One of the most iconic Vodou artforms is the Haitian beaded flag, or “drapo”. To create a drapo takes incredible devotion, skill and patience. Each tiny bead and sequin is placed and sewn by hand, one at a time, by a gifted artisan. With their vivid colors and striking designs, these drapo are traditionally used in Haitian Vodou ceremonies to honor various Spirits, or Lwa.
